Aspen Medical named ACT Exporter of the Year

Aspen Medical has been recognized for its successful exporting career by winning three awards at the recent 2011 ACT Chief Minister’s Export Awards.  Aspen Medical took home the Large Services Award and the ACT Exporter of the Year award as well as being inducted in to the ACT Export Hall of Fame for provided long term contributions to the ACT exporting community and promoting the ACT on the global stage.

ACT Chief Minister, Katy Gallagher said, "These awards recognise the significant achievements of the ACT's vibrant and growing export community and highlight the importance of collaboration between Government, industry and business community.”

Aspen Medical has a successful history of growing its presence and projects not only in Australia but also across the globe. In the United Kingdom, Aspen Medical assisted the National Health Service (NHS) to clear thousands of orthopaedic surgical cases, an eight year wait in urology surgical cases and a two year waiting list in ophthalmic patient surgical appointments.  In the USA, Aspen Medical is a critical provider of healthcare specialists into the Center for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance. Aspen Medical is in partnership with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government in the National Ambulance Company; one of the first Australian companies to form a joint venture with UAE Government and has just delivered medical training into Southern Sudan, the newest country in the world.

“The 2011 Exporter of the Year, Aspen Medical, has demonstrated how local businesses can succeed despite the rising Australian dollar and economic downturn globally, growing their exports by almost 30 per cent in the last financial year,"  said ACT Minister for Economic Development, Andrew Barr.
